Our History

Deb Swift started Swift Hearing Aid Service in the back office of an old soda fountain pharmacy in Belle Vernon, Pa. in 1987. The Pharmacist sent her customers back to Deb for hearing tests.

Then the Pharmacist built a new Pharmacy across the street and put in two small rooms for Deb. She did not charge her rent initially and then as Deb built the business, she began paying rent and hired Susan Imburgia at the front desk. Mabel Fries gave Deb the opportunity to do what she was called to do with her life. Help people hear better.

Within three years, Deb opened another office in Washington, Pa on E. Maiden St.

Susan Imburgia remained with Deb for 20 years and then retired. She has passed from cancer recently. Deb always tributes Susan as her right hand and would not have been able to build the business without her. She is missed by Deb to this day.

The office on E. Maiden St. was moved to our current location on N. Franklin Dr. off Chestnut St, next to Angelos restaurant, in the Dr. Caimano’s building. We have been in Washington for 33 years.

In 2009, Deb opened a one room service center in a Medical Spa Peters Twp. on Washington road. Marion Wilson worked for Deb part time. Gradually Deb opened a full time office on Washington Rd. with Marion at the front desk. We then moved to our current location on Washington road next to S.H. Village in approx. 2014.

Our N. Hills location was originally purchased from a colleague on Perry Highway in 2005. We are currently located at 6000 Babcock Rd, near Mcknight Rd., Not far from Ross Park Mall.

Our Allison Park Office was purchased from a colleague in 2014. We are on Wm Flynn Hwy on Rt 8.

35 years later, Swift Audiology has four offices, and employs 12 people. We are a full service Practice. We pride ourselves in customized hearing solutions that improve our Patients lives, each and every day. Our Professionals consist of Doctors of Audiology and Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialists. We strive to customize a plan for Better Hearing for every Patient, based on their individual needs and lifestyle. Cost ranges among 5 price ranges based on technology levels that is appropriate for each patient.

Debra Swift

B.C., H.I.S., OWNER AND PRESIDENT

Debra Swift is the original founder/owner of Swift Audiology and Hearing Aid Service and has been in Practice for over 35 years. She has been providing excellence in Hearing Healthcare in Washington, Fayette, Westmoreland, Greene and Allegheny Counties. Debra is Nationally Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences and has served on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Hearing Healthcare Association as past Treasurer and is currently serving as Secretary. She was awarded the PHHA President’s award for outstanding service and has received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award from the Lions club, for her service in helping those in need of hearing help.

Debra is driven by her passion to offer each patient an improved quality of life, through better hearing and communication. Continuing education is a normal way of life for Debra and her highly qualified team. This keeps them on top of the latest cutting edge technologies available in hearing devices, as well as the most current testing and verification equipment.

Above all else, service, ethics and personalized care are what she lives and breathes. Being any other type of entrepreneur would not be rewarding to Debra Swift. These are the necessary elements in providing the most beneficial hearing healthcare.

Dr. Megan Myers-Auria, CCC-A

AUDIOLOGIST

Megan M. Myers-Auria, Au.D., CCC-A, received her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University in 2012. She previously received her BS in Communication Disorders from California University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Myers-Auria has been providing excellent patient-centered care at Swift Audiology for the past 7 years. She also has been active in the neighboring communities providing educational seminars, presentations and physician outreach. She loves helping her patients hear better, so they can enjoy their relationships with their friends and loved ones to the fullest.

Dr. Lauren Carmen, Au.D.

AUDIOLOGIST

Dr. Lauren Carmen is a patient-focused audiologist with experience in hearing and vestibular diagnostic and rehabilitation services for primarily adult individuals. Her experience includes audiologic care at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and before finishing her doctorate degree, completed a yearlong externship at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. These experiences have given her the strong capability to work with a variety of hearing aid manufactures as well as the most up-to-date hearing technology in order to provide the highest quality of patient centered-care. As the newest member to Team Swift, she is eager to help individuals hear better and enjoy the sounds of life again.

Dr. Carmen obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Communication Sciences and Disorders a received Doctorate of Audiology at Rush University in Chicago Illinois.

Tammy Swift

B.C., H.I.S.

Tammy Swift is a PA licensed Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist and also has Lyric extended wear certification. She has worked for Swift Audiology since 2011. Tammy truly is committed to the highest level of care for her patients.

She is knowledgeable with all digital devices and the latest technologies. She believes that better hearing is attainable and will work with you until you are hearing well.

She is experienced in fitting Hearing devices for individuals of all ages, and finds the most challenging cases to be the most rewarding!
