Rarely does anyone who deserves recognition for their loyalty and hard work, get the recognition and gratitude they deserve. Swift Audiology has been a success due to the passion and effort of many.
Founder Debra Swift has truly held in the depths of her soul, a passion for the patients she serves. Helping those who came to her for hearing help has enriched her life and given her purpose. The team that surrounded her for so many years has shared in that passion. No single person can build a company. It is Debra’s deepest desire to recognize and appreciate a very special woman who built Swift Audiology right along with her, for the first 20 years.
Susan came to Swift Audiology by design. She left a message with Debra’s secretary. That woman passed on Susan’s name and number to Debra early on. For whatever reason, Debra tucked it away, giving it no thought. When Swift Audiology needed a front desk person in Belle Vernon, Debra came across Susan’s name and called her. She served with Swift Audiology in many capacities for over 20 years, until she retired. She was so dedicated and served with such a heart, that Debra was truly devastated when Susan retired. “It was heartbreaking and I felt as though I lost a piece of myself,” said Debra.
The success of Swift Audiology today is built on the solid foundation of years gone by. This company would not be where it is today, if not for the efforts and hard work of Susan Imburgia, right beside me. I have always said that she was my right-hand man, my strength, and my greatest supporter. Only Susan knows the struggles and sacrifice that we endured to build this company. We robbed Peter to pay Paul. We built on a shoestring. We did not have the funding we needed to get ahead quick. It was a very slow and long process. We put all profits back into the business.
Susan just passed on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2106, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Until I see you again my dear friend, I want to honor you and thank you on behalf of so many who benefit, to this day, from your dedication. You have my deepest respect always.
God blessed Debra Swift with the gift of a lifelong friendship and bond that will endure beyond this life.
